Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

La veglia funebre, però, a casa dei Putnam sarà l'occasione per consentire a Serena di piazzare un colpo da maestro suggerendo ai comandanti di prendere al volo quella ghiotta opportunità per mostrare al mondo l'umanità di Gilead.
Ma come farlo?
Il funerale di Fred sarà lo specchio per le allodole che tutti stavano aspettando nella terra delle ancelle e delle colonie.
Un corteo maestoso, una sfarzosa parata, limpida, ordinata, silenziosa, solenne, da trasmettere in mondo visione. Il lutto ed il dolore di una vedova, il rispetto e la solidarietà di un'intera comunità.
In questo modo Serena e Gilead riusciranno a mandare un messaggio di forte umanità al mondo e, nel contempo, Serena potrà lanciare uno sguardo minaccioso a June per ribadirle che la partita non è finita e la guerra è appena iniziata.

Dall'altro una Serena, di nero vestita, contorniata da occhi, ancelle, comandanti tutti disposti in file ordinate e con rigore assoluto dietro il feretro dell'eroe della nazione Fred.
Il colpo di scena, quello che non ti aspetti, quello che spalanca scenari suggestivi e lascia un'inquietudine assoluta, arriva proprio alla fine quando gli sguardi di June e Serena si intrecciano idealmente.
A consegnare un dono funebre a Serena, in rappresentanza di tutte le bambine ed i bambini di Gilead è Hannah, la figla di Luke e June. La camera si sofferma spietatamente sul suo volto proprio mentre June e Luke, stretti in un tenero abbraccio suggellato da un bacio, si trovano in una piazza di Toronto tra decine di maxischermi.
Il loro stupore drammaticamente avvolto in un velo di rabbia e paura nel rivedere la piccola Hannah divenuta adolescente vale più di un milione di parole.
Il mondo è pronto ad abbracciare Gilead? In caso ciò avvenisse sarebbe proprio grazie a quella donna vestita di nero che abbraccia e tiene la mano a quella tenera creatura con il volto di Hannah.
Il dardo è stato scoccato ed ha colpito June in pieno cuore.
Siamo solo all'inizio eppure siamo già estasiati da quanto visto e da quanto potrebbe avvenire.

As usual, today I am bringing you in a new Preview of a post that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog focused entirely on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.

The wake, however, at the Putnam home will be an opportunity for Serena to place a masterstroke by suggesting that the commanders take that golden opportunity to show the world the humanity of Gilead.
But how to do that?
Fred's funeral will be the lark's mirror everyone has been waiting for in the land of handmaidens and colonies.
A majestic procession, a pageantry, limpid, orderly, silent, solemn, to be conveyed in worldview. The mourning and grief of a widow, the respect and solidarity of an entire community.
In this way, Serena and Gilead will be able to send a message of strong humanity to the world and, at the same time, Serena will be able to cast a threatening glance at June to reiterate to her that the game is not over and the war has just begun.

These are impressive sequences that Elisabeth Moss gives us, and above all they are moments that leave a mark.
An alternating montage that brings different cultures and emotional states into play. On the one hand we see a white-clad June trying to take charge of her life again, excited and moved in front of a ballet, hand in hand with a newfound Luke, finally repaid for her many expectations.
On the other a Serena, dressed in black, surrounded by eyes, handmaids, commanders all arranged in neat rows and with absolute rigor behind the coffin of the nation's hero Fred.
The twist, the one you don't expect, the one that opens up evocative scenarios and leaves you feeling utterly uneasy, comes at the very end when June and Serena's gazes become ideally intertwined.
Delivering a funeral gift to Serena, representing all the girls and boys of Gilead, is Hannah, Luke and June's daughter. The camera lingers mercilessly on her face just as June and Luke, locked in a tender embrace sealed by a kiss, stand in a Toronto square amid dozens of giant screens.
Their astonishment dramatically wrapped in a veil of anger and fear at seeing little Hannah become a teenager again is worth more than a million words.
Is the world ready to embrace Gilead? Should that happen it would be precisely because of that woman dressed in black hugging and holding hands with that tender creature with Hannah's face.
The dart has been shot and it has hit June right in the heart.
We are only at the beginning and yet we are already enraptured by what we have seen and what may come to pass.
