Hank Shrader sarebbe ancora vivo?
Applausi scroscianti.

This is the future link to the post that I am inviting you to read in the coming days at www.serialfiller.org and which is previewed here
As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of a post that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.
It's a moment like we've seen so many throughout the early seasons.
Jimmy takes care of Chuck, indulges him in his delusions, delivers his groceries, 4 chats with him, offers news about the possibility of having the Financial Times in his hands sooner or later, the 2 see each other frequently and spend a few quality minutes as good brothers, away from Howard and HHM.
Until, the subject of "work" comes up.
And there, it starts again, in an endless loop always the same conversation as Chuck himself will state in this brief flashback. Chuck will pretend to be assertive, cooperative, interested in Jimmy's legal passion, will provide him with false hope, false support until Jimmy, bitterly, realizes, once again, how convinced his brother is that Jimmy cannot practice law since he is, in Chuck's eyes, a neighborhood scoundrel.
For Chuck, Jimmy will always remain Slippin Jimmy.
The sentence has long since been handed down and will know no appeal.
Would it have been better if Jimmy McGill had not existed as a lawyer?
Should he, Jimmy, have desisted from that passion?
Or perhaps, more reasonably, would it not have been perfect if Chuck, instead of rejecting his brother's wishes and dreams, had embraced them and mentored him?
What kind of man, what kind of lawyer would Jimmy have become with Chuck's support?
Would Chuck McGill still be alive if he had not been so brutal and short-sighted with his brilliant but reckless little brother?
Would Heisenberg have existed as we remember him?
Would Hank Shrader still be alive?
Would Kim Wexler be the best lawyer in the state?
Would Kim and Jimmy have been the most envied couple in the county?
If these are not regrets, if this is not a giant What If this is?
And just to avert the risk of being less than perfect, even in this flashback, the authors place a book on Chuck's table, hand-delivered by Jimmy.
It is "The Time Machine" by H.G.Wells (a book that also appeared in the season 6 cold open at Jimmy's house)..
Roaring applause.
This is not the first time we have been forced to flay our hands from the applause.
It won't be the last.
There are still a few minutes to go, but there is still room left to paint several instant masterpieces, still time left for the writers to wield a baseball bat and club us in the stomach.
The color disappears again.
It will be the last transition.
We won't have any more but we will still have a little spark between the fingers of the 2 protagonists of this Shakespearean tragedy, of this intense and fierce drama, of this intimate romance that is never predictable, never trite.
Jimmy's myriad lives come together and find expression even in the world's most amiable and liberticidal place.
In a sequence that will have lasted 30 seconds we discover that Jimmy has settled in nicely even in prison.
Gene's manual dexterity as a kneader and baker makes him a useful element in the prison kitchens. Saul's notoriety seems to have provided him with the peace of mind and untouchability he needed. Finally, Jimmy's humanity seems to have given him the respect and friendship of some inmates.
They call him Saul, everyone calls him Saul. That ghost is back but this time it does not haunt him, it helps him, helps him make room for himself among rapists and drug dealers, murderers and sociopaths. Even that identity, which took so much from him, now seems to have come in handy.
But it is time for Saul, to shed that mask for good, if only for a few minutes.
Waiting for him, in his total unawareness, is his lawyer.
Waiting for him is Kim.
