KEEP, GUARD. In Hebrew "Sha-mar" is used. Shamar means "destroy the rebel or the person of the name- keep, guard, watch."
In Genesis 2:15 Adam was to tend and keep (guard) the garden.
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and KEEP it."
The "Keeper" is the person who protects or is in charge. We are to keep (guard, protect) the Sabbath.
Deuteronomy 5:12, "Observe the Sabbath Day to KEEP it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you."
Keep (shomar) (observe, protect) the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy. We are also to REMEMBER the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8)...
"REMBEMBER the Sabbath day, to KEEP it holy."
"Remember" is "Za-char" in Hebrew. The picture of this word meaning is "pricking or piercing" so that a memory is what "penetrates or infixes." Much of life is forgotten. What is sharp, what is protected, what is held as crucial is remembered. What we view as important we will always remember. What I remember and forget often reveals the true priorities in my heart and life. ❤️
