With less than two months before the release of Blade Runner 2049 the excitement grows, after the release of the official trailer which has given much to talk about between fans of the genre and followers of the first film, Blade Runer (1982) which was a Film that over the years has had a great influence on other films, series and even anime of genre Tech-Noir, Cyberpunk and despite having received very harsh criticism and have a modest collection with the passage of time achieved to become a cult film.
After 35 years comes to the movie the second installment of this story, personally I do not like to write pre critics or initial impressions about movies, but, this movie is really worth mentioning that offers us, what we can expect and how we can manage with those expectations. Directed by: The director of the film will be in charge of Denis Villeneuve, stand out his last two works, Sicario (2015) and The Arrival (2016), the director's quality has been growing with each film, so there is great expectation about what will be the level of this.
Produced by: the executive production is Ridley Scott, who so far has done a good job, bringing together a great team for the making of the film, also if we consider its predecessor Blade Runner (1982), invested a lot of resources and time in it so we can not expect less in this new delivery.
Screenplay by and Story by : The script will be in charge of Hampton Fancher, who was the one who wrote the "adaptation" of the novel of Philip K. Dick for the first delivery, so at least we can expect a script at the level of the initial but with a Different touch that is printed by the director.
Starring: This is where he has his best level without demeaning at any time the rest of the film crew, Harrison Ford will return to play Rick Deckard, Ryan Gosling will be the main protagonist as the official K and although some could complain about him, Gosling has shown the diversity of roles he can play and is made for great challenges, along with Oscar winner Jaret Leto are the strongest of Blade Runner, although I hope Jaret has more weight in this film than he had in Sucide Squad .
Director of Photography: will be the Oscar nominee Roger Deakins, who has previously worked with Villenueve in Sicario and we can highlight his works in Skyfall (2012), Fargo (1996), and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) .
Music by: Jóhann Jóhannsson, who also works with Villeneuve in Sicario and The Arrival, will be joined by Hans Zimmer, winner of the Oscars for Best Soundtrack for King Leon (1994), nominated nine times in this category and recently remembered for his work on Trilogy by Christopher Nolan of Batman and Dunkirk (2017).
I do not want to speculate about the story and how the film will be if there will be a lot of action or not, if it will be faithful to the Cyberpunk style because it would just be a speculation, with the information we have about those who worked in the making of the film, we can expect a great work for this year, we still have to receive the story whatever it is they want to present it, leaving aside that romantic feeling that sometimes dominates us. It is a great team, most of whom know each other and have already worked together, so it will be a great challenge for Villeneuve to offer a work to the level reached or greater to this one.
We will wait until its premiere in the cinemas in the month of October and after seeing it we will talk about it.
Now tell me what your expectations are about this movie in the comments.
