I don’t really disagree with anything you said, but I guess I think negative reinforcement is inevitable. If you jump face first from the stop of a staircase, you’ll get what I mean. Also the savagery of others does plenty of negative reinforcement, people shit where they eat all the time and so there is plenty negative reinforcement that comes from that (just try starting a fight with a group of aggressive guys twice your size)
So since nature and strangers do a whole lot of negative reinforcement, I guess I think it’d be best if we focused on positive reinforcements with the people we have a direct influence on, and then instead of trying to control the environment as much as possible (like humans in society tend to do), we can encourage more experimentation and exploration which will inevitably lead to negative reinforcement.
I know very well what humans are capable of, I think we reduce the worst of our tendencies from facing them and recognizing them in ourselves, which is the opposite of what I see most of the world doing.
