Here’s a list of random things that have been on my mind:
1 There are 3-4 accounts that comment on my posts and that I suspect of using AI to summarize and generate replies. I really hate not to upvote and to ignore comments by people but due to the day in age that we live in if im not 95% sure something was written from a human who actually read the post, I won’t engage with it anymore.
2 Twitch is burning me out and I don’t think it should. I didnt go in with huge expectations but since my goal is to build more connections between people and communities I get overly excited about small victories and I have a hard time not comparing myself.
3 I realize my attraction to RPG games has always been(in addition to the storytelling) the predictability of the grind. You gain EXP and level up. There is no ambiguity. If i learn guitar, there are no clear levels of ability. Some people know all the scales and can’t write a song or have no feeling in their playing. In business, no amount of improvement or quality matters if people don’t understand your product or service. Games are not this complex, or at least the ones I like have more clear cause and effect.
4 I find a lot of depression is caused by struggles with finding practical cause and effect methods of improving life, relationships, work etc.
5 I can’t get all the answers from anyone or even a combination of people because what I want is not exactly the same.
6 It suddently occured to me today that perhaps one of the reasons people want kids (aside from the biggest reason which is spreading their DNA) is accountability. People naturally want to be decent and good and having a kid puts immense pressure on you to work harder and to create an environment that will turn them into whatever it is you want them to be. This doesn’t automatically make you good or decent, but it definetly creates incentive if its something you think is important.
7 Kids are the fastest and easiest way to experience unconditional love (although pets are a decent way too). Somehow most people fuck it up and mix their love with all kinds of baggage and drama because they havent worked enough on themselves
8 Most of 6 and 7 are subconscious. Most people might not agree with me at all.
9 i don’t believe unwanted sacrifice is neccisary or beneficia to anyone. Any sacrifice you make for your kids or your lover or your work ahould be made with some degree of peace. Don’t give more than you can afford, otherwise you will rot inside and it will hurt the people you love.
10 My main struggle in life has been convincing others of the value I see in myself. Perhaps it’s imagined value but the evidence says otherwise. The problem is that the evidence doesn’t lead to lasting and reliable support in the form of money. Where money does come in, it doesn’t feel directly tied to my value, even somewhere like Hive, which is a bit better than most jobs.
11 Most social platforms require your value to be recognized by an insane amount of people in order to turn it into a meaningful income. At Hive its about a few select people seeing it. Most jobs on the other hand value you for your labor you do against your will. You wouldn’t stock the shelves of the store for free.
12 I don’t think the market really values people who try to express their natural value because in the end, its easier to amass power when you turn other people into replaceable cogs in a wheel. Many people are so broken that their own sense of security comes from control.
13 Power is different from control. Power flowing naturally will empower others. Control is an attempt to capture power and it disempowers people.
14 I dont think we need to agree on how to live and what is right and wrong but I think it’s time we introduced the idea of a “fork” to democracy. If you can’t fork, you are not free and it is not democratic.
15 This model would still require different societies to build peaceful relationships with each other based on mutual interest but more importantly based on a similar commitment to an increasingly peaceful and increasingly decentralized democracy.
