Today was difficult. A day filled with wasted money, lazy day , yet lots of wasted energy and cooking raw heat.
Had a lot of time on my hand to think back in the past of how things were.
Coincidentally, my phone brought a notification of a past friend of mine's birthday that is coming up.
We were very close but now lost contact, it made me think of lost relationships in a way😂.
Tried getting her number back but later gave up and got used to it.
Now, almost a year later and I totally forgot about her if not for the birthday notification.
Another coincidence that influenced the pickings of today's #ttt posts is the fact that tomorrow is the longingly awaited, forever dreaded Valentine's day, so I asked myself.

Which genre mixes love and regrets better than Powfu?

Although I didn't want it to be just that, I wanted a full process of the loving process.
Hence the hope for and of the love, the regret for the failure of aforementioned love, then the understanding of the failure. I believe that's the love cycle, so that's what I'll try to emulate in 3 tunes.

Regrets For Valentine

High School Baskets ~ Powfu

This is part of Powfu's latest album Gathered by the Lantern.
I really like this album because of the soberness and tenderness of the songs. Each one raw with emotion and a clear meaning.
In this song, a boy, an athlete confesses his love for his childhood friend.
The girl being his source of motivation and longevity on and off the court.
Using the guitar and the moving lyrics, we're taken with the music, believing the boys words and hoping the girl agrees.

Person I Am ~ The Bootleg Boy

In this song, we're in on regret. We're taken on different point of views of a failed relationship, both the boy and the girl.
Hearing and feeling their want to go back and change the past now that they know how to could have made things better
Yet we also hear their hesitancy to make such decisions as they've already grown past the relationship and not wanting to alter or change the pain felt as the pain helped in making them the people they are.

- Future Diary ~ Powfu

This is the understanding bit.
In this song, it's the one point of view of a boy in a failing relationship.
He understands why the relationship is failing, yet his own selfishness makes the relationship fails more.
Their differences in priorities make thing's worse, his heart can't take it, it hurts, yet he carries on with the understanding that it won't get better, the regret that his perseverance won't make it better, but the hope above all that it would get better.

That was it from me on #threetunestuesday this week folks.
A song to help remind you all that love never ends well😔
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, wish y'all well and see you next week✨🔥
