The Other Me

I am a shadow that does not
bow to the sun
treading a path of dusk
unknown to time.
Not a ripple in a wave of resignation
I am the sea that divides itself.

In my eyes, the sky is not always blue
there is rain that whispers its secrets.
In my ears, the earth beats softly
like a prayer that only I hear.

My heart is the wind that blows freely
not confined by valleys
not entangled by storms.
It crosses the desert
looking for a hidden oasis
where differences become strength.

Being different is not a burden, but a fire that lights dark nights
that take sides.
I climb a nameless hill
scratching my footprints on
the silent ground.

I am not the same
I do not want to be the same.
I am a puzzle that needs no answer.
In this endless journey
I find myself—always different,
always alive.
