With heavy heart
and bated breath
I pondered on love's grimly fate
Its fickle nature and its cruel jest
And how it leads to desolate state
For love is like a withered rose
A fleeting beauty,
a fading glow
Its passionate fire,
a mournful prose
That burns too bright
and fades too slow
It lures us with its sweetest charms
And fills our hearts with blissful dreams
Yet in the end,
it brings us harm
And tears apart the very seams
For love is but a bitter pill
That we must swallow and endure
It leads us to a tragic thrill
A fate we cannot but ensure
And yet we seek it
with such zeal
That blinds us to its harsher side
We yearn for love,
we crave to feel
Its elusive warmth,
its gentle tide
And so we dance the lover's dance
In blissful ignorance of the end
For we know not of love's harsh trance
Or the pain that it will soon extend
And so we love,
with all our heart
And give it all,
without a thought
For love is but a fleeting art
That leaves us shattered
and distraught
So let us love, but not in vain
And cherish every fleeting kiss
For love may bring us endless pain
But in its rapture,
there is bliss
