This time I want to show you one type of the suborder Caelifera, namely grasshoppers, as you can see in the picture above.

Caelifera is a suborder of insects that includes insects and other animals similar to insects such as the rice locust above. These grasshoppers are believed to be a group of ancient living herbivorous insects from millions of years ago, this is based on the information I read on Wikipedia.

Now we leave the realm of scientific language and enter the realm of popular language so that it is easier for us to read and understand it.

As we usually know that grasshoppers are wild insects and are considered as pests on plants. But uniquely in several places in my homeland, Indonesia, this grasshopper is actually used as a food source because it tastes delicious and savory. In addition to the delicious taste, the nutritional content contained in it is also quite high.

Indeed in this day and age, not many people look at this animal to be used as food. But in certain circles grasshoppers are still one of the delicious foods and are missed, especially when the rice harvest season arrives. I say that because I saw it on a private television broadcast several years ago about a group of residents catching grasshoppers in the fields after the harvest season was over. Then the catch is sold to the market and some are processing it into culinary foods that are very popular with certain circles.

However, my post this time is more focused on the beauty of photography than culinary food. However, I share this information as one of the news information related to lifestyle and health among certain people.
