Dear Mama,
It has happened again.. oh it has.. And this time, it is way worse than before.
I do not know where to start from mama, or how best to explain to you the events of today, or how I feel. But mama you were wrong, and I was right. And now I suffer for the mistakes I never wanted to make...

"Are you mad...!?"
"Are you out of your mind!?"
I loved Frank, but the first time he got violent with me, I knew it spelled disaster. There I was, a young lady of 23, ripe for marriage as my household were fond of saying, experiencing the anger of the man I loved for the very first time.
"I said, are you mad Sarah!?"
"What in heaven's name is your problem!?"
I stood still, the empty tray hanging unconsciously in my hand, my thoughts racing... Why was Frank suddenly different? His eyes, the look he now gave me... the veins in his head, and his hands... they coursed through his skin like angry waves in the desert...
"Sarah, are you dumb!?"
"Quit staring at me and clean up this mess!"
I remained fixated to the same spot, yet I was moving rapidly in my head. I was already picking up the bigger remnants of the shattered glass, sweeping up the smaller shreds, mopping up the water from the tiles, smiling apologetically as I returned to my betrothed with a new glass, and a new tray...
"Sarah!"
And then it happened.. That moment which started us down this path, the opening act which proved to be the first of many.. That raised hand, that opened palm, that descent which had ended up on my left cheek...
I was brought back to reality with more abruptness than I thought possible. And Frank, who I loved, had landed that first blow...
Dear Mama...
It has happened again.. oh it has.. And this time, it is way worse than before..
I do not know where to start from mama, or how best to explain to you the events of today, or how I feel..
Mama you said I should hold on, I should tarry, and that once the night was done, and the morning come, that love would win...
And I didn't want to mama, but I trusted you... and I carried my hurt all the way to the morrow, and the morrow, and the morrow after that... But mama you were wrong, and I was right.. And love never won...
Instead soon enough, I realized, that tomorrow never ends...
Dear Mama..
He hit me again today..
But I hit back.. And now I have him to worry about no more...
