As the weather was dry and mostly windy and sunny, I spent the whole of last week taking away the wood left after cleaning the orchard every afternoon.
On the border of my mother's parcel, which is actually an old orchard, we spent a few days cutting down trees, cutting trunks and thicker branches and somehow piling them up.

It's all very dry, but the ground under the dry grass was frozen, and now it's soft.
But still, I don't think this should be a particular challenge or obstacle for a 4x4 pick-up. (and it wasn't).

Ugh, but now I鈥檓 left alone, I have to carry in a pick-up log after log, thickest first and thinner on top.

I have to admit that I got a bit tired.
One hour to load. One hour to unload.
It took me ten rounds to get it all together to the woodshed in front of my mother's house.
Actually, my mother has wood-fired central heating in her house and that will be used for heating next year.
And what's in store for me in the next week or two?
Everything will have to be cut into logs so that the firewood will dry better for next winter. :) 馃榿
