In this update I would like to share with the community the tools and dashboards that I have built since my last update as well as provide updates on my witness node describing the new hardware and software update to the latest 1.28.7 version.
Since my last witness update on November 10, 2025 I have been busy building Hive Tools and Dashboards .
Here is the list of the individual tools and dashboards that I have built in the last eight months:
Author Report Card - for analyzing one author in depth: readability, vocabulary, engagement, posting trends, etc.
Compare Authors - for comparing multiple authors with side-by-side metrics for quality, rewards, activity, overlap, etc.
Hivelytics 2.0 (Improved Hive Stats) - Account stats similar to Hive Stats but with additional charts that let you see the top curators of your posts by HP and by number of votes. Useful to quickly visualize where your author rewards are coming from:
As you can see from the image above this has data similar to Hive Stats, but also the new charts in the image below:
Authors Dashboard - Weekly snapshot of rewarded authors with distribution stats, top performers and reward analysis.
Hive Weekly Active Authors Dashboard - trend, seasonality, and price-link analysis from weekly author counts since 2021-08-23:
Top 600 Hive Curators Dashboard - comprehensive analysis of curator performance and rewards. This dashboard looks at the latest seven days to measure curation rewards and other metrics. One interesting datapoint from this dashboard is that top 600 curators on Hive accounted for 95.1% of all Hive curation rewards that were distributed in the last seven days:
Curation Reward Concentration Trend Dashboard - tracks how curation rewards have been distributed over time starting with July 2018.
As you can see over time the curation reward became more and more concentrated especially for the top 10% and top 25% of the curators and even top 100 curators is trending higher.
Top 100 Curator Voting Allocation (5Y Weekly) - track who each top curator allocates votes to, how those allocations changed week by week, and how weekly curator reward power evolved over five years. You can select a specific curator and get the details on that curator for a specific week as well as five year data on that curator performance.
These dashboards provide transparency for any user on Hive to see what is going on in terms of Hive Curation, Author Rewards and other things.
And last tool that I am going to mention here is the Hive Witness Analytics
This last dashboard is not intended to judge Witness by their KE, this was just an interesting thought experiment. What if we apply KE principle to Hive Witnesses? The results are quite interesting.
When you see KE in peakd displayed for the user it does not account for the Witness rewards. So I built this Dashboard to calculate KE that includes Witness rewards as well. The KE Ratio (Krampus Coefficient) is a metric created by Hive user @azircon that measures how much you invest in the platform relative to what you extract.
Obviously Witnesses should not be judged by this metric the same way as regular authors are. Witnesses provide a service to the Hive Blockchain and particularly the ones that run API nodes have significant infrastructure and support expenses which should be compensated by Hive Witness rewards. Also some of the top witnesses provide development and other services to Hive blockchain, so KE is not exactly applicable to Witnesses and still it is an interesting way to look at the Hive Witnesses.
It is interesting to see that even our top 20 consensus witnesses have a very wide ranges of KE:
As you can see from the chart below most of the Hive Witnesses are actually investors into Hive that is they hold more staked Hive than what they received in Witness + Author + Curation rewards:
Also while the label says Hive Extractors, I should probably change it to something like Less HP Held as this could be payment for service provided and not extraction per say. I just left the terminology from the original KE definition.
I also noticed an interesting trend. Newer Hive witnesses tend to be Hive Investors and as the average age of the witness increases so does the KE showing that more Hive was taken to pay for the service provided or the projects the witnesses are involved in:
These are interesting numbers, but I wouldn't say that even Mega Extractors are bad, for example steempeak is the witness for PeakD and good-karma is the witness for my favorite front-end Ecency. The KE numbers that put these witnesses and others into the Mega Extractor category are probably totally warranted.
The point is not to judge based on KE alone, but to provide an extra datapoint to evaluate our Hive Witnesses in the overall picture that includes a lot more than just KE. So take a look at this Witness Dashboard with all the background information provided above.
