I am many things, as are we all. I love this community and the idea behind it, and I am looking forward to getting to know the people here. Thank you for what you all bring to this platform. I spent the first week here reading dozens of posts, finding my way around, and discovering that there are truly others in the world who want to build a better future.
Here are my random things, and feel free to ask me anything!
I am an only child. I used to play Monopoly by myself. I always won. My secret? Buy the orange properties.
I tend to see the world through an idealistic lens. It usually doesn't dawn on me until it is too late, that some people aren't as idealistic as I am.
I've run a large Missing Children's website for about 10 years. I'm so grateful to the creators of Steem, and for giving us all a chance to create the kind of world we want to live in. I don't want to live in the kind of world where children go missing, and the problem gets worse, not better.
I wasn't allowed to eat sugar when I was a kid. In 6th grade, there was a school fund-raiser where we sold boxes of M&Ms for .50 cents each. I secretly ate $26.00 worth.
I finished college on the 30 year plan. I received my BA in psychology when I was 47.
I always plan my trips according to the left turn/right turn ratio.
I have been known to put Frosted Flakes in my ice cream. It's like a hybrid ice-cream cone. (See number 5)
The older I get, the more I realize that there are more things that unite us than divide us, as people.
I wrote a patent once. I'm still patent-pending.
A few years ago, I did some genealogy research (which was, unbeknownst to me, confirmed by another branch of my family) and discovered I am the direct descendant of not one, but two first ladies. I am proud to say that Rachel Donelson-Jackson and Emily Donelson-Jackson are my great-times 7 and 8 -grandmothers.
I had a nightgown when I was little that said, "A woman's place is in the house." On the back it read, "And the Senate."
I use to play Risk on a local BBS. Yes, I am THAT old.
When I was 10, I read the biographies of Thomas Edison, Harriet Tubman, and Sir Francis Drake just for fun. I was going through a phase.

I'm a connessiur of french fries.
I once wrote a Match dot com dating profile that was so popular I had people writing me asking me to craft their profiles for them, however - I did not have one single date out of the whole thing. I'm still single.
I am currently no. 8, 9, and 10 on the NSA's Cryptogram Challenge game. Turns out, I was already on their sham "Surveillance Economy" Watchlist.
