A little bucolic something for today!
My favourite palettes tend to be associated with Fall, especially when combined with water and its properties.
A wanted a scene involving a cabin, tucked away by the side of a river. A nice little retreat from where folks can sit to enjoy the passing weather and time :D
Time to dive into the quick process!
I find it's usually easiest to start with water and skylines. It sets the horizon, but also allows me to rough out the silhouette of the piece. Some of my favourite colour combinations involve a white-grey sky, but with bluish bodies of water.
Working from the horizon and towards the foreground really helps with speeding up and understanding the layering of objects. The closer we get, the more vibrant the colours and starker the contrast. This is mainly due to the fact that the major light source happens to be right above us and being filtered through the unseen canopy [another visually appealing aesthetic bites lip]
By the end of it all, I decided to hide the cabin a little further away, and throw in more detail to hint at the structure of the bridge.
