Well today was an odd one indeed. The new phase of our quarantine started today and this meant that more businesses were allowed to open , with certain restrictions of course, and more people had access to quarantine passes also. In the back of my mind I guess I was expecting something to happen. A shift in the mood. A lift in the day to day activity.
Instead I was confronted with a scene out of a zombie movie. I had to ride into the diveshop as we need to prepare a few things and do some work on the place in the coming days. As I rode in there was little to no traffic and when i entered Panagsama there was not a sole to be seen for quite some time. Nobbody for what seemed an eternity. Then the occasional person would either ride by or stroll past the gate and make me jump. I guess I was expecting them to feast on my brains. I think I've seen too many Romero Zombie Flics.
I am used to it being a little quiet at 6:30am when I would normally open up but this was eerily silent and when a friend came down to meet me to also do some things at the dive centre he said the same thing. It feels very , very odd.
I would walk out every now and then. Look up and down the street. Nobody. I looked around the corner. Deserted. You start to second guess yourself and wonder if you've been given the right information. Should I be here. Has a new state of emergency been passed. MAybe I should go home? Then When i realised I could get a Pizza delivered i thought hey if pizza can be delivered it's got to be ok....hasn't it???
I'll be headed in again tomorrow I'll be posting updates daily here. The situation is always changing. Let's hope things improve everywhere very soon.
Thanks for reading my ramblings, stay safe out there
Ciao!
