I was lucky to see not only the rocks of Dovbush but also to go on a hike in the mountains of Svydovets. And that's why today I will tell you about this place. Here you can relax from the world and the noise for almost a day, which seems as if you have enjoyed these landscapes and silence all your life.
The third highest ridge in the Carpathians is a popular hiking and biking destination. What do you like more - alpine lakes, waterfalls or endless mountain views? Svydovets has everything!
The rounded shape of the mountains of the Svydovets ridge and the special flora create truly unique landscapes. Especially in summer, when rainy grey-blue clouds float quickly over the ridge, and the sun in some places emits a bright ray on the velvety sea of tall grass, which was once the wind.
Svydovets is a real lake paradise: several alpine lakes are located along the ridge. Apshinets, Ivor, Dogyaska (Gereshaska), Vorozheska - you can go down to everyone, set up a tent, spend the sun over the mountain or meet the dawn with coffee or tea. Speaking of tea: to light a fire near the lakes you have to work hard.
In other words, firewood should be collected on the way to the lakes, because within a radius of a few hundred meters from them grows nothing suitable to boil even a mug of water. In the photos in this post, you can see the lakes Gereshaska and Vorozheskaya.
Some of the Svydivetsky lakes are small, but Gereshaska, for example, is strikingly large, as for a lake of glacial origin: it has a little more than 167 meters diagonally and a depth sufficient for diving. I only warn you at once: the lake is filled exclusively by precipitation, is at an altitude of 1577 meters above sea level, so the comfortable temperature for water treatments can be forgotten: +11 degrees for him - the maximum summer temperature.
The highest mountain of the Svydovets ridge is Blyznytsia mountain, 1881 meters high. Although there are actually three "Twins" in Svydovets: just the Twins, the Small and the Big Twins.
The peaks are located nearby and from afar may seem the same. The difference in height is really small - 1881 m has a northern peak, and the southern - 1872 m, and Mala Bliznytsia from them less than 300 vertical meters.
These are popular hiking destinations - on the one hand, they attract the highest peaks, on the other hand, they are easier to reach - there are villages with regular transport connections, climbing can be done on two weekends without having to take a vacation.
There are many routes along the Svydovets ridge: you can go through it all, but you can only climb the lakes from the Dragobrat farmstead and return to civilization relatively soon.
