I don't mind your questions at all. I just have to figure out a short-ish reply. Yes, I have been a Christian since I was a small child. Over the years, I have come to better understand just what that means. It's a growing process. I do not recall having had any serious doubts about God's love. I believe the Bible is the Word of God, and it reassures me over and over in many places about His love for me.

Some parts of the Bible can be puzzling, but three things keep me from completely questioning it. 1) In order for the Bible to make sense, much of it needs to be read within its historical context, including the consideration of to whom various books were written and why. 2) If I could understand absolutely everything God says, He wouldn't be a very impressive God. 3) If the Bible was not true, and if Jesus wasn't the Son of God who died for my sins, the Christian religion would have faded away by now. Christians have been persecuted for centuries because it's all very true and real, which makes many unbelievers extremely uncomfortable, to the point of trying to silence the truth. It hasn't worked.

Furthermore, I have experienced in my own life God's love, wisdom, and protection, and have seen it in the lives of family and friends. His ways are not our ways, so it doesn't always make sense, but ultimately His desire for His believing children is to see us grow more like Jesus. That's a lesson that isn't always easily learned. I've seen people come through some very tough times with their faith strengthened and their belief stronger than ever.

Feel free to ask questions any time. It makes me think, and that's good for me.
