We all like to make fun of high level politicians.
Why?
Because it's known in comedy circles as 'punching up' (preferably if you're kneeling in front of them and they're standing on a chair.)
Also because we all know that most of them make more money than we do, they have better healthcare, better on-the-job perks (chauffeurs for their cars, military-level private security, pension plans, and get to fly around in private jets).
I'll bet they even get FREE cofefe at the office. 馃槈
Enough legitimate outrage...
This month we're all about recreational outrage: Getting mad about dumb silly stuff that doesn't really make us angry.
TODAY, I'm recreationally outraged at the emoji makers for insulting both a politician AND a comedian in the same, swift stroke!
Same person.

What the United States Senator, Al Franken, did in this photo was ill-advised, poorly thought out (if at all), and just plain dumb.
I don't think he even actually touched that person's body armor (meant to stop lead BULLETS flying towards your thoracic cavity at 2,500 feet per second).
Surely the armor would protect against a silly man's fingers, moving at the speed of stupid!
Still, even pretending to do what Al was doing wasn't very respectful of the lady sitting there.
In America, we call that "bad touch."
Don't do that.
Not even to a clown.
If it was a mortal sin to do silly, stupid things, Hell itself would have filled up a very long time ago.
I am recreationally OUTRAGED that the emoji designers would forever remind us of Senator Al Franken's impulsivity from a photo taken so long ago. To make it even MORE plain as day that this emoji represents Al, they even matched the color of his shirt.
Then made it even worse by giving him bad teeth, patchy hair, and a lazy eye.
Oh, the humanity!
The real question here:
Why would anyone ever need an emoji of Al Franken anyway?
Dude's not that famous!
To treat a fellow comedian in this manner, denigrating his image and legacy in such a soulless, despicable manner is
sick and wrong.
A pox upon you, emoji makers!
Leave Britney the funny man alone!
