My first experiences with steemit started around November 2017 while searching for guidance/advice on saving fractions of btc off a MultiBit wallet, on an old Mac I used in 2013. Then I realized that every time I searched about mining, a steemit article would pop up on top of the list.

I made an account in January and suggested to a couple friends they try out the space too. None of them have and I've been increasingly curious. A few weeks ago I noticed the Steem conference was here in Las Vegas and I started looking more and more around the site. I didn't make it to the conference but I'm down to attend in the future, looked like y'all had a blast.

Born in New Orleans and moved here in 2000, I love it but I'm also ready to try somewhere new. With my best friend from high school, we've owned a few bars, a small juice and cup company, currently building a blockchain app for the F&B industry and I'm fascinated by the future platforms the technology will enable.

Most of my time is spent reading so I may post articles I find interesting along with some thoughts/opinion/links to other stories/connections. I also like to write short scenes about the life-story and current events of a dear friend and her sphere of influence. She's encouraged me to share them, I'm encouraging her to create her own account soon. We both cook and like sports betting and I'm digging the very cool community for both here.

I still have a ton of questions but I'm learning. The main one feels too simple to ask, "How do the bots work?" The more appropriate question might be, "How does one maximize bot usage while minimizing negative impacts on the community?"

One thing that's been easy to notice is focus on keeping new people interested enough to stick around. I've read several times about how consistently contributing quality content to the community is a challenge. Reading thru the entire FAQ section took me along time and I still don't totally understand the space. Committing to engaging with the site every day has been my beginners game-plan. Continuing to encourage my friends, especially those disappointed with Facebook, but mostly those that have a special talent and skill-set that might flourish here, is my main goal.

I'm very happy to be here and so are me two little dogs, Nucky and Chalky. Thank y'all for having us and have a great weekend!
