This is something I have had for over 20 years, closer to 30 actually. The pictures were taken with a cheap pocket camera and much much later scannend for safe keeping.
Those are images from my birth place a town at the foot of the Sudeten mountain chain that separates Poland from the Czech Republic. It's great skiing and beautiful landscapes.
The snapshots are of the winter of 1991/92 showing the crumbling walls of the iron curtain and the changing landscape.
This place as it is in these images is long gone. In its place there is a city shaped by cheap chains and filled with traffic. I mourn that time, not because everything was better or such nonsense but because this was a time when somehow there was time. And people lived more and remembered more instead of simply running.
Anyhow - bear with me for the quality and enjoy my memories of a City long lost - Jelenia Gora 1991
Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój
Pomnik nieznanego żołnierza
plac Ratuszowy, Jelenia Góra ( before 1945 it was Hitler Platz)
Wzgórze Grota-Roweckiego Stefana
