Blessed are the people who have good relatives and a wonderful extended family to boast of. It is rare. Trust me, it is very rare.
I will not get into what made me write such a post but it certainly makes me feel like I want to rant about the situations and experiences in my life.
I have come across different types of people and sometimes I wish I could have met some earlier and some never.
For example, if I had met my mother-in-law earlier, I could have learned from her wisdom and avoided many mistakes during my youth time and even saved the house my dad had built for us in his hometown. Perhaps, it was not meant to be.
We meet many people in our society and sometimes when we travel to other places. Have you observed people during such situations and felt that the way some behaved was kind of odd and that you would never come across such a situation in your own area or comfort zone?
Even family members are different from one another. So, what to say about the people we meet in other countries? Now that internet is popular, we need not travel to other places but can make acquaintances with people across the world. Speaking of such a platform, Hive is a platform where you meet so many people on a daily basis. If you observe closely, there are many types of bloggers on Hive.
There are those who blog daily and are dedicated to interaction. There are some who write and expect others to come along and comment and vote without any involvement in return and they are the ones who disappear after some time. Some bloggers write just for the sake of writing and keep repeating content and after a while, complain that they do not get any encouragement from other users but do not understand that Hive is not a get-rich platform. Then there are people who think that others should always give them respect and attention. Attention seekers live in their own world. No use in trying to reform such people.
What about relatives?
As I remarked at the beginning of the post, blessed are those who have fine gentlemen as relatives. Relatives who do not bother you about borrowing money, nosey about what you do or how much you earn and what you do with your money, and so on, and why you want to spend on gadgets and the lifestyle you lead.
You might think that I am projecting myself as perfect. Never, but I would never go to a person's house and comment on their way of living or what they do with their money.
With social media being the rage and keeping up with the Joneses, many people take huge loans to match up with the lifestyle of their neighbors.
People always look forward to social acceptance as the key to happiness.
If only they realize that true happiness can be found by simply giving up the sense of belonging, and desire, and hoarding stuff that they never even want.
Walk out of your house and forget the internet and look at the trees and listen to the birds. You will find it refreshing, indeed.
