On this #Splinterlands Battle with the Explosive Weaponry Rule, I used my typical Water Splinter lineup for the opponent's Blast attacks featuring The Kraken, Lobstradamus, and Mermaid Healer.

The Battle also has the Close Range Rule, but neither I nor my opponent took advantage of it.

My strategy

  • I use The Kraken whenever the Battle Ruleset allows it. I use Crustacean King to heal my Tank Monster.
  • I used Lobstradamus to absorb the Blast damage coming from the opponent's Monsters' attacks. The Summoner Bortus weakens the Magic Attack of all opponent Monsters by 1, so my Lobstradamus will not be heavily affected by Magic damage from which it has no protection against. The Mermaid Healer will heal the Lobstradamus with its Triage Ability (3 Health per turn).
  • The Axemaster and Azmare Harpoonist are able to safely deal massive damage to the opponent's Monsters from behind The Kraken, especially because their Attack is boosted with Blast from the Battle Ruleset.

Further analysis

  • The opponent's Legendary Dragon Monster Chaos Dragon is able to benefit a lot from its Scattershot Ability because of the Explosive Weaponry Rule. Scattershot makes the Monster with that Ability attack a random opponent's Monster and ignores any opponent's Monster with Taunt Ability. Scattershot bypasses the opponent's Taunt ability, so I will have a low chance of winning the Battle if the Chaos Dragon defeats (in one hit) my Crustacean King early in the Battle.
