I can smell malibu burning
haze of smoke fills the sky
ashes fall like snowflakes

red sun, smoke-filled lungs
heavy heart, mind confused

birds chirping is
chaotic and in swirls
people wander out
and look at the sky

I am a human
&
Here is my experience

The felt compassion for humanity,
swirling in the distant of an inferno,
to the backdrop of raw nature

Silence in my window now
in the red sun of the city of angels

The little tragic big city,
the burnt neighborhoods,
dried crystal tears,
empty dreams

What is this earth
but weird, complex mess
Life is vivid, tragic
and cold at times

It's a mystical mystery
It's endless fury

How Immense nature is,
How Vast life can be

How small we are at times,
the world can feel like a dark
and cold place

so vast, wide and chaotic
so cold, empty and silent

Stop the silly chatter of the mind,
retune your awareness,
use your intuition on Nature's way,
feel your deeper sense of belonging.

Every hidden cell is
throbbing with vivid life,
every fiber is dancing to
the songs of the wind,
while the incense is ever flowing
from the pines and hills.

The First Temples were
the mountains, hills and grooves.
The First Teachers were
the sun and the moon
Where man sat in wonder,
got taught the lessons of life
and found nourishment.

What sounds does silence make?
Do I have a voice if no one listens?
Do you love if you feel no connection?

Life is messy, weird and complex
It what makes it so damn unpredictable

How many times have you felt the eternal connection
The love of another that you thought
would last forever
only to see it be washed away

Or a loved one was taken away
in the darkness of night
Or biology being so crude to you
Or the self not being enough

Now,
there will always be wildfires and hurricanes
there will always be twilight and dawns
there will always be sunsets and sunrises
the luminous dark will always give birth

it's nothing short of a miracle,
when the first flower blooms
from the ashes of forest

how immense life is, how full of mystery
how amazingly strong life really is
