I just went through the recent post of @bala41288 where he discusses how he has been saving a major part of his earnings nowadays. During this lockdown period, nobody can venture out unless they have a solid reason. So those whose job requires going out and mingling with the public are now unemployed.
Those who work in the public sector and IT sector are the most privileged as they don't have the fear of losing their revenue. The most affected are the daily wage labourers whose lives solely depend on the money they earn every day. There are millions that lead this kind of pathetic lifestyle in India alone.
Since they don't go outside often as they once used to be, they are saving a major part of their money. I had around 300 USD in my hand to spend when our government announced the lockdown. Two months down the line I still have over 150 used in my hand after having met all the expenses.
It is the case in India as our expenditure on living is very less as compared to western standards. Those who get a good revenue and have the wish to multiply their money now stand a chance to do that in the background.
They can choose to invest in the share market as the share prices are very less. Those who want to change their career stand a chance to do that because of the availability of ample time in their hand.
In every angle, expenses are generally very less and savings are high. I guess people will look back at the unnecessary spendings they made in the past and take brilliant and intelligent decisions in the future.
