Ya hacía falta salir de la rutina un poco. En esta ocasión mis amigos y yo decidimos salir a la playa para celebrar el cumpleaños de una amiga del grupo, pero esta vez, quisimos hacer nuestra ida a la playa un tanto distinta a la normal. Frecuentemente vamos en pequeños botes con un gran numero de personas a una isla cercana a la ciudad, quizás a unos 10-15 min en bote, esta vez, tuvimos la oportunidad de alquilar una lancha para 10 personas, y para nuestra suerte, no era quedarnos en una isla y ya, pudimos recorrer 3 y bajarnos de la lancha para disfrutar un rato de cada una de las playas.
En sí, no hay nada que envidiar a nuestras otras salidas, la verdad se sigue pasando un rato increíble porque estamos en grupo y en realidad, como si estuviésemos en familia, la familia que elegimos, y las playas siguen siendo igual de espectaculares. Pero, hay algo que sí me gusta muchísimo más y hace la diferencia, el paseo en lancha. Quedarme en la lancha mientras vamos de una isla a otra, ver el paisaje, las olas, la estela de agua blanca y espuma que deja la lancha al andar, el paso (con suerte) de delfines, y el hecho de poner a volar mi imaginación al ver cada montaña tratándole de buscar un forma divertida, eso sí lo prefiero.
It was about time to break out of the routine a little. This time, my friends and I decided to go to the beach to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but we wanted to make our trip to the beach a little different from usual. We often take small boats with a large group of people to an island near the city—maybe a 10- to 15-minute boat ride away. This time, we had the chance to rent a boat that held 10 people, and luckily for us, we didn’t just stay on one island; we were able to visit three of them and get off the boat to enjoy a little time at each beach.
In itself, it’s just as good as our other outings—the truth is, we still have an incredible time because we’re in a group, and really, it’s like being with family—the family we’ve chosen—and the beaches are just as spectacular. But there’s one thing I like much more and that makes all the difference: the boat ride. Staying on the boat as we go from one island to another, watching the scenery, the waves, the trail of white water and foam the boat leaves behind as it moves, the (hopefully) passing dolphins, and letting my imagination run wild as I look at each mountain and try to find a fun shape in it—that’s what I really prefer.
Estando en el mar, a pesar de que no sea a la que más le gusta nadar, soy feliz de tan solo estar ahí. Amo que la brisa choque con mi rostro, sentir mi cabello volar al compás del viento, que el sol tueste un poco mis hombros, y sobre todo agradecer el poder estar viviendo ese instante..
Esta salida de cumpleaños fue deliciosa, en todos los aspectos. La comida: parrilla, carpaccios, chucherías y demás. El agua: ni fría ni caliente, quieta como un plato, transparente, apacible y solitaria. El atardecer, exquisito, a pesar de que en un momento muchas nubes negras estuvieron en las adyacencias de la isla en la que estábamos, corrimos con suerte de que solo unas pequeñas gotas -de bendiciones- nos cayeran, la brisa fría se llevó estas nubes y le diron paso a un atardecer especial, y digo especial, porque además de hermoso, la compañía en ese instante era ideal.
When I’m at the beach—even though it’s not my favorite place to swim—I’m happy just to be there. I love the breeze hitting my face, feeling my hair blow in the wind, the sun warming my shoulders a little, and above all, being grateful to be experiencing that moment…
This birthday outing was delightful in every way. The food: grilled meats, carpaccios, treats, and more. The water: neither cold nor hot, still as a mirror, crystal-clear, peaceful, and serene. The sunset was exquisite, even though at one point many dark clouds gathered near the island where we were. We were lucky that only a few small drops—like blessings—fell on us; the cool breeze swept those clouds away and made way for a special sunset—and I say special because, in addition to being beautiful, the company at that moment was perfect.
