Hello there pet lovers! I have bumped into this contest so I hope it's not too late yet. On the header are photos of our furry angels which had filled our home with happiness and security.
My kids are fond of pets such as fish, birds, cats and most of all, dogs.
Frankie
That's old Frankie, our longest reigning dog. He died at the age of 12. He had eaten something outside which was poisoned by dog poachers. He would vomit when fed and all he could take in was oxygen water for one month. We all mourned for his death. He was such a sweet dog.
Peeping under the door was Lablab, our shitzu. She was still a month old so we have to separate her because she would seek heat from Frankie's back but he won't concede.
We never lost dogs at home. Kids just love playing and cuddling with them. Sad to say, some come and go because of street accidents or due to seasonal epidemics.
Lablab and Francine
Lablab later had a companion. Her nephew actually, and we named him Archie. Funny, because we name our dogs after their suitors. Lol! Archie died at the age 7 due to inflamed liver disorder. He was Antonia's favorite.
Scooby
We called him Scooby. He was the product of barter trading.:) During the lockdown period, barter trading became the trendy approach of our locals. Since we were not allowed to go out or shall we say, only one member in the family was allowed to go out in rotation as scheduled by the local government with corresponding color coding. Hence, home delivery orders became trending via the social media, with the agreement that no money will be involved but in kind. I bought the newly weaned scooby for 2 kilos of dressed chicken! He was delivered to us and I already loved him with those pitiful eyes! He was a jolly dog and full of energy. He loved to roam around my garden especially in our backyard but one time he had eaten something that killed him within 24 hrs only despite the antibiotics. I guess he was poisoned! I really cried. He was a big dog at merely four months old.
A Memoir
This is the last photo of Scooby with our two new puppies given by our neighbor. We called the sisters Francine and Heart. The two were playful to each other.
Francine and Heart
Scooby's sudden death made me more vigilant towards the new members of the family. Like any other kid's curiosity, I have noticed that they liked the taste of wet soil even if they're full. I was really shocked so I gave them dewormers every 15 days. I also bought dog nozzles for them for fear that they might get infected again. They've been like that for two months.
Inseparable
See, they ate together and slept together. Perhaps you will know who heart is on those photos!
When there was an epidemic on dogs again, Francine got sick but she was able to recover after three days of treatment. Heart followed and did not made it despite the effort of reviving her. It was heartbreaking to see Francine when she would look everywhere for Heart.
Our Last Furry Angels Standing!
To date, Lablab is busy with her task like barking to those stray dogs she sees across the road. She will be 10yrs old this coming month of July
Francine is already 8 months old. She likes to stay put that way so if someone looks for me, they would call me first because lady as she is, Francine has sharp booming barks!
