It takes an open heart to feel for the beaten down when one has been in the shadow of a monumental tragedy. Most people have blinkers which somehow sanitize what they are seeing and hearing. And the majority knowingly do not care. The hyper- monetized world has made emotion and beauty cheap, kindness is weakness and ruthlessness is a virtue. Peace is for fairies and if you don't take as much as you can from this world somebody else will do it leaving you to hang dry.

Stopping food, water and medicines is a tactical move and using children as weapons is a strategy.
