Well, in daydreams I put myself in many weird, awkward, messed up, dangerous and some questionable situations, but never have I ever pictured myself walking on an unknown street as a homeless person. So, thank you for offering such an opportunity to experience the homeless version of myself in the daydream land.
Well, the first thing I would do as a homeless person is, (assuming it is the morning time) walk around the unknown streets, take a good look of the surroundings. When you are homeless, it’s pretty easy to blend into the street corners, no one would pay a double glance towards you, and without any trouble, you can simply sit quietly and observe people.
But judging my behavior, it would get boring after a while and by this time, hunger would surely start to unravel its presence. Now because I don’t possess any money, the first thing I would do is find a cardboard, which would be a pain in the ass if the city is just too clean, but hopefully stalking around the trash cans or narrow abandoned streets would provide the needs. After a successful stalking, I would ask random people to lend me a pen, assuming I am still wearing decent clothing (after all I am only homeless for the weekend) it wouldn’t take long to manage one pen.
And then my grand plan for managing food would begin. I wouldn’t beg people for money.. No, no, no. Instead the sign on the cardboard would be like:
For $5
I will be your listener for one hour
Now, city people are mostly lonely, getting by each day with the burden no one has time to listen to. So, as a homeless and unimportant person, I am offering a safe place to whine, vent, cry or just talk without any judgment. It’s a win-win deal for both parties.
Now, this plan has one flaw, and it’s none other but the creepy dudes. No matter what you do, these creeps always find a way to ruin things. So, I would just exclude them from the strange city (Not realistically possible, but hey it’s my daydream).
If the plan works, I would have plenty of money to buy food for the night and after sustaining the hunger problem, I would simply find a tall building and burst into the rooftop. I would watch as the city slowly starts to get lost into the blanket of darkness. With the stars above my head, and a lit cigarette in hand, I would say goodbye to an adventurous/tragic/lonely/depressing day. (The outcome really depends on how flawlessly my grand plan works).
