A boy with a bright smile
A girl with a bitter mouth
Crossed path, on a busy street
The boy was in a rush, holding on to the newspaper while
The girl was fighting a hangover with long sips from the coffee cup
It could have led to something new
If the coffee cup didn't meet the newspaper first
The accidental contact
Unleashed the bitter mouth
And swiped away the bright smile
He practiced so delicately
For the last six months
In front of a broken mirror
The only witness
Of his pathetic life
But she didn’t have to know that
The hot pouring coffee on her blouse was all she could see
The girl walked away
Leaving behind the echo of her bitter words mixed with spilled coffee on the ground
The boy looked down in shame
Only to find the large coffee stain on the headlines.
The next day he became one.
