My advice? Treat them like family. Remember they are dogs. Don’t forget modern medicine has its place. And use some good old-fashioned common sense. Oh— and lots of love.

I lived in Afghanistan in ‘75-77. Dogs were an important part of daily life for many people. The Kuchis (nomads) lived side-by-side with beautiful Afghan Hounds. The Farsiwand (residents of Kabul, mostly)
