Curiosity is still overflowing,
losing the lost;
From the hills comes the torrent,
the meshes on the shore of the sea.

কৌতূহল তবু উপচে পড়ে,
হারানোদের হারাবার ভীড়ে;
পাহাড় থেকে আসে বয়ে জলস্রোত,
এসে মেশে সমুদ্রের তীরে।
আহা কি অপূর্ব দৃশ্য! দেখে দর্শকেরা,
আসে যারা তাঁরা বোঝে কত কষ্ট,
আসিতে মায়ের নাড়ী ছিড়ে।
ময়ূরাক্ষী, গঙ্গা, পদ্মা, মেঘনা ব্রহ্মপুত্র,
নানা নামে ছুটে চলে মায়ের বক্ষ হতে।
কত বাঁধা, কত সাধা, কত রক্ত ক্ষরণ;
মা ও মাতৃভূমির তরে যে প্রান করে দান,
ধিক্ তাঁর কাছে মৃত্যু রূপি ঐ জীবন মরণ।
