The incredible nature of Zlatibor
Zlatibor is a mountain of exceptional beauty. The vast meadows, lush pastures, mountain streams and pleasant climate make this mountain one of the most beautiful.
Due to its favorable climate, Zlatibor also has very lush vegetation. The most numerous are the meadows where 120 varieties of grasses grow and the sum of deciduous trees and conifers.
The climate of Zlatibor is also favorable for the treatment of bronchial asthma and other allergic diseases.
The fauna of this area is made up of wild animals that constantly inhabit this area or occasionally appear. Bear, wolf, fox, wild boar, roe deer, rabbit, badger, squirrel and other small game are constantly present here. Birds are also diverse and numerous.
The rivers and streams of Zlatibor are rich in various types of fish: chub, perch, trout, juvenile and grayling.
Zlatibor also has its own sources of natural mineral water. One of them is the Vapa spa, near the village of Rozanstva whose water has healing properties for skin diseases and eye diseases.
Ribnicko Lake is one of the pearls of Zlatibor.
Zlatibor rivers and lakes
The waters of Zlatibor have a lot of water in well-distributed numerous streams. The rivers called Rzav are also the richest in the water, and there are three of them.
Veliki Rzav is the cleanest watercourse of Serbia. it springs beneath the small Cigota, flows into Moravica and, by the way, supplies fresh water from towns of Arilje to Gornji Milanovac.
Black Rzav appears above the earth in the Emperor's Field, at the foot of Murtenica, as a small river. As it flows through the central part of the Zlatibor Plateau, its flow is enriched by the waters of numerous tributaries that it flows into the Drina.
At the southern edge of Zlatibor is Uvac. The strength that reaches its tributaries to the Drina River is such that its shores are transformed into canyons of stunning, wild beauty.
But Zlatibor also has its sources of natural mineral water. The most famous one is near the village of Rozanstva, in the Vapa spa. Zlatiborians used it to treat skin diseases and eye diseases.
White water is a source that is not on the very Zlatibor massif, but, by all means, belongs to it naturally. Scientific studies have confirmed its healing effect, which was discovered by the inhabitants of the region in the Middle Ages, and was used extensively by the Turks during the domination of the Balkans.
There are no natural lakes Zlatibor, but imaginative Zlatibor people made two mountain pearls. From the influx of Obudovica creek a lake was created in the very center of the Zlatibor Tourist Complex, and another, Ribnicko, is located near Crni Rzav between Ribnica and Vodice.
Skiing on Zlatibor
The Tornik Ski Center is located at an altitude of 1,110-1,490m, 9 km from the Zlatibor Tourist Center. The total capacity of the ski resort is about 5,400 skiers per hour. The Tornik Ski Center is equipped with a six-seater ski lift with a capacity of 3,000 skiers per hour, two ski lifts of the "anchor" type, with a total capacity of 2,400 skiers per hour. The four trails, Cigota, Tornik, Ribnica and Zmajevac are covered by artificial snow system, so this ski center will no longer depend on the weather conditions.
There is also a new type of installation in the Tornik Ski Center. "Tweaking", which, like the cable car itself, can be used in the summer and winter of the year and provides immense pleasure and excitement to anyone who decides to try it. The ski center is also equipped with a children's playground and carousel.
