I'm still drowsy, getting up from my bed, grimacing, rubbing my eyes. Today is Friday. The only thing that makes me happy. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the blurry windows. Oh no, I thought, it's still a cold and awful day. I would happily sleep, not only this day, but all winter.
My mother already calls me down, she sure thinks I haven't woken up yet. Breakfast is ready, the smell of tea is spreading. I go down still frowning. "Hey, why didn't you see?" My mother asked, "it snowed overnight" look. At the moment my mood changes and I run to the windows, but they are so clouded that nothing can be seen, I run to the door, I open them. Ahh, snow! He really fell! And already a thick layer has formed, the driveway will have to be cleaned otherwise it will overwhelm us and we will not be able to go out, but my enthusiasm grows like bread with yeast.
I dress enthusiastically, put on my boots, jacket, coat, scarf and gloves and rush to school. Today is Friday, tomorrow is Saturday and there is no school tomorrow, and it has snowed and that means only one thing: adventure.
On the way to school, I watch my neighborhood and the streets. How much their appearance has changed in this winter outfit. They are almost unrecognizable. Everything looks like a fairy tale. The roofs are completely white, the only things that can be seen are the antennas on the houses and the chimneys from which smoke is constantly coming out.
I meet my grandparents, a little more grumpy than I was, understandably, this time is not good for them, they are driven like penguins. And there are those grandparents who pull their grandchildren on sleds as they shake hands with delight. So I used to rejoice, even today I look forward to nothing less, except that no one pulls me on the sled anymore, but I lower myself.
I can't wait for this school week to end and tomorrow, as soon as day with my classmates, I'll go to the bank where we will go down. I am sure that my sister will ask me to make Sneško Belic with her, as every year, I will first resent it, but then I will gladly accept and laugh with her and make jokes until one of us falls into the snow.
In the evening, when I come off the sled, then I will settle down by the fire and warm up, drink tea and eat cookies that my mom will cook with lots of love. Although I have gone through this many times and it is the same every year, I still look forward to it and never get bored.
