The Lord be praised for another great Bible Exposition with the Esteemed Bro Eli and I would love younto haveva share of some of the things that I learnt.
Important truths that I learnt
Galatians 1 vs 6-8
The Apostle Paul gave the Church a very intense warning against deception.
The devil knows that we are in the end and he has a short time, that's why He wants to run ahead of his time to deceive many so, He's doing everything he can to stop the propagation of the true Gospel. As a Christian, I have learnt to guard my heart from heresy and from lies. I have the Holy Spirit in me who is the Spirit of truth and so, I have truth in me and I am able to distinguish between the truth of God's Word from lies.There are those who have made it their sole aim to turn away God's people from the true Gospel that they have believed, we must be watchful about them
Matthew 24:13 - This is the sign that our Lord Jesus gave to us that will signify the end, the Gospel will be heralded in every nation.
- I have learnt that we should put on our Gospel shoes and be about the Master's business, preaching the Gospel to every man; making pupils of the nations.
John 16 vs 2 - We understood that though there are some religions that support the killing of other men, ad God's children, this shouldn't be. Man was made in the image of God that's why God disapproves murder.
We shouldn't oppress our fellow man but we should love our enemies.
FAMILY PLANNING
Man established family planning in order for him to control birth rate and family economy. Although there's no place in the Bible that mentions Family Planning, God instituted marriage for the purpose of procreation. When it comes to family planning, His wisdom is available to us on how to run our families.
MY EXPECTATIONS THAT WERE IMPROVED AFTER THE MEETING
- Sometimes I could listen to any preacher on what used to be my favourite Christian channel without really bothering myself about whether what they were teaching were actually in line with God's truth but now, I scrutinise everything I hear when someone is preaching the Bible so that I wouldn't be deceived.
HOW THE TEACHINGS HAS POSITIVELY AFFECTED MY EVERYDAY LIFE
- It has reminded me and helped me understand better, the times we are living in and how mindful I should be of what I listen to.
