Not that I intended to say something other than the truth but a weird feeling in me had me doing otherwise.
Hello great hivers. I'll be sharing with you today on the very juicy and saucy topic : "Fuel For Lies". Stick around, it'll be fun!!! 馃槆馃馃馃コ
There are two basic things that make people lie and they are:
The later was my main reason for telling those little lies as a kid back then. Though not entirely but sometimes, they saved me from serving serious punishments from my parents at Home or teachers in School and Church. I even found myself formulating lies for my friends so they can escape the same fate with me when I was in trouble and guess what? They came back with testimonies 馃ぃ馃ぃ
As I kept growing especially in with the Word of God, I began to stop my lying game.
Emphatically yes!
Infact this added more fuel to the fire.
I did something wrong at home which my dear Mum wanted to skin me alive (figuratively speaking 馃槈 ) for. Actually I took out a lump of meat from the pot, not knowing that my Einstein mother had them counted when cooking it . When she found out, knowing I was the only one at home, she called me outside and asked me if I actually did it. As a smart kid, I lied at first but my Mum was smarter. She promised that if I told her the truth, she would not flog me.
Hearing this, I became no longer afraid and told her that I did it confident she would forgive me but I was wrong.
Suddenly, my Mum's countenance changed and that day, it took my prayers & that of my neighbours to stop her.
While she flogged me, I wish I had not said the truth. Sadly, it was too late.
Grown up now, I realise how important it is to tell the truth no matter what though we tend to lie to protect ourselves and those we love. Truth will always find it's way out, it can't be hidden forever.
Till next time..
