I always brag about the fact that I rarely tell a lie, but is that really the truth?
I was thinking about this topic the other day, about someone who's always truthful and I realize that sif there's someone like that, they probably would be among one of the most boring people on earth.
You see, in as much as I try not to lie to people, there have been occasions where I've had to say one or two silly lies here, not for the purpose of being deceitful, but just to play games with people. These lies that I tell, are lies that I know that easily be caught and most times I end up telling that person the truth even before they realize it was a lie.
These are lie that I tell just for the fun of it. A good example was when I had visited my brother the other day and jokingly lied to him that I had paid for a website that had given me access to unlimited hacked games.
Of course I knew he'd find out it was a lie as soon as possible because he'd want to know the name of this website so he too could subscribe to it. But I had pretended for some minutes before eventually telling him it was a lie, now my question is, should such lie (or practical joke) actually count as a lie?
The reason for this question is that they've been a few times when I've said certain stuff to people, solely for the purpose of getting a laugh out of them later in the future when I eventually tell them the truth, only for me to forget that I even told such lie, and then when they find out themselves that it was indeed a lie, they totally ignore the fact that my intention wasn't to lie but to maybe play a prank on them.
So does that make me a liar or just a guy who's terrible at doing practical jokes?
