According to the forecast, this is the last weekend with nice summer weather. I am visiting the traumatologist next Tuesday to get a final opinion and decide about hip surgery, but I decided to take the urban foldable bike and have a short but beautiful Sunday ride.
A short circle of 5kms, a 30 minute ride enough to change my mood as I reached the beach promenade and enjoyed this breathtaking view. Apparently we will have rain during most of the week starting tomorrow but as much as I hate the stress of living on a quite densely populated area, I appreciate having spots as this one so close to the house
They say this is one of the traps of people living in Spain. Not the best services and not the best salaries, but the quality of weather and life get most of its citizens trapped and not willing to 'fly' to other areas where they may have a bigger income with the same profession or get a job they cannot find on their hometown or in the country. I recognize I am not a beach guy, I cannot spend more than 10 minutes laying in the sand, but breathing the ocean around me is something I really miss when being in the farm.
I wonder how many people in the country has decided to leave to try to find a better economic life and from those, how many decide to comeback afterwards. We keep ranking countries on their GPD and forget to rank them with social metrics such as young migration due to the gap between average salaries and cost of life.
