Arguments have trailed the recent statement made by President Muhammadu Buhari describing Nigerian youths as lazy, uneducated and 'free-mealers'. To start with, I must laud and respect the diverse opinions Nigerians have put up to either subscribe to this portrait or refute it. Like every other statements, the recent 'bombshell' has also put the president on the spot.
Without any sense of sentiment, I wish to fault Mr. President's position on Nigerian youths. While most critics require a cover up statement on the real state of things in the country, perhaps wanting the president to market the country on the face of International community, I request the President and other individuals in government to give to us our entitlements. If really most Nigerian youths are lazy, then who is the architect that designs the institution that makes laziness appealing?

Has the president lost count of 'willing-to-work' youths but got strained by the unavailability of jobs that promise prosperity? Is the president unconscious of the saying 'action begets reaction'? Let me not ask too much questions here so that the respondents can find ease in providing answers to them...
While I differ with the president on this, I beg to put that if the then youths were not as lazy as 'ours', what then is the causal factor that propelled the laziness in us? If the president cannot do anything laudable to rescue 'helpless youths' from the scourge of favouritism and filling an oval-shaped hole with a squared peg, let him not rob us of our thrive for survival.
If in a country where youths pay through their noses to be educated, visit abattoir to earn survival and do so much to break out of the shell of ignorance, youths are still tagged as being lazy, uneducated and illiterates, I wish to throw the statement in the dustbin of fairness.
Let me equally state here that we are no way different from citizens of other countries who desire some incentives from health, economy or social programmes... How then has our urge for free and sound healthcare delivery accounted for laziness on our part? In the USA today, if the institution is flawed like ours, their youth composition would appear in the same fabric we appear now. Let the president make an alignment between our presumed laziness and neglect of duties by politicians.
With these few thoughts of mine between Nigerian youth and our law makers who are more lazy and uneducated?
