Do you face them - quit them - abandon them - repair them ?

I posted about this sweet couple few days back, they are almost like our pets - every morning they come and sit and wait for foods. And if there is little delay they will start looking inside to see who is around. My kids got so acquainted with them that they get their breakfast before we get 😁 And when we saw them preparing the nest, we were very excited. After all we could watch the hatching so close. The husband was very hard working - we watched him work all day to build the nest - collecting each piece and bringing it with excitement and giving it to the wife - the wife was putting it a nice way as you can see below. So we new they have a plan and something is coming. We were truly enjoying all the gestures of these couple so close.

Suddenly one morning another evil pigeon came and dragged the nest - everything destroyed in few seconds. My daughter was watching it and by the time we went there it was gone. We could barely do anything to save. Lot of panic at home to restore their nest - but man how do we build the nest. Kids requested me to bring some materials and keep aside so that they could take and rebuild. And after few hours, we also saw them rebuilding.

So a little breather - this time the husband was working way fast bringing the fallen pieces - And the wife trying to repair it the best possible way - and then came the excitement - the first egg next day. We fell sad about the new nest, because the original one was looking so perfect - but this one was kind of manageable. So we decided to help in - I went and spent couple of hours collecting similar small streaks and then put it near by with the hope that, they can rebuild it much faster. But things did not work out that way. The wife was hatching the egg all day and night. May be it realized hatching is more necessary and she cannot build the same way.

We watched her hatching the egg all day and night - kids were very worried what she would eat , so food was provided near to it, so that, she does not have to move out. She has been very friendly to my wife and does not do anything whatever close she takes her hand - but once I tried and I saw the attacking gesture - shaking her wings hard and hitting on my fingers - I was very scared for few minutes - a unique experience. Thereafter I decided not to go and instead my wife / kids take care of everything. We decided not to go near and let her hatch so that we could see the kids soon. Kids even started googling how many days it would take to see the new guests. They were enjoying all these so close.

And here comes the evil - one morning, when we waked up the hatch was broken again - She was not there - only one egg was there - and instead of worrying about the breakfast investigation started to find out what happened . One egg fell down - another kept at the edge - with no insight of any of this couple.

Heartbreaking ending to all the excitements. I too felt very bad the entire day. We brought the egg from the edge and kept it where it was with the hope that they may come back. But the egg is stranded lying there still and they have not come back. Looks like they finally gave up on this - but we are still waiting. As human being, we always tend to build things - how many time broken - we start building fresh from whatever left - but may be they do not think like this - Amazing Nature.
