After almost a decade, we have got a bumper crop of mangoes this year and Mom is very happy, because it's her favorite. And more ever, its fully organic as we use natural techniques to ripen them, putting them on sand. So they stay longer unlikely the ones from market which gets rotten within just few days.
I had to go multiple times to pluck them, as she is still recovering after the surgery and not able to do hard work.
These two plants are the major ones, though we have few more growing up in the backyards. Even though they are close to the roof, it still needs tools to pluck them, so this year I ordered a special tool from online.

It came with a 8-to-24 Foot Extendable Telescopic Pole and a Coconut Plucker along with the Mango Fruit Picker, but the quality did not meet my expectation. The Mango Fruit Picker is not sturdy as advertised and the pole is not very stable when fully expandable. Buying the same product with 6-to-18 Foot Extendable Pole would have been a better decision. Unfortunately the product did not have a return option and more ever we wanted it in time, so I had to use it. I extended it with three poles only, expanding to 18 ft, and it still needs a strong muscle to deal with. And I had to handle the Mango Fruit Picker very carefully, plucking only one mango at a time, else it felt like it will break easily. The pole is not available to buy separately, else I would have gone for that alone.
Last year I had ordered this one but did not use, and a friend took to use this year. It broke at few places, but he welded in a local shop, making it more stronger. This was a much useful than the other tool and I will have to make something like this next year, that would fit into the telescopic pole. The pole would certainly be useful, but not worth the price.
So as you can see, I used all the three different tools, the one created by Mom at home last year was still the best, she could not build a new one this year though. Using bamboos are better because of its light weight and we have them on our backward, so may be I will learn the skill as well to create the tool. Convenience comes at a price and these products available online was ordered only because of that, but when that too does not meet expectation, we will have to build it on our own.
The ripen ones gets stored in the freezer and its a Mango Fest at house for couple of months.
And there are plenty at the ground level, which can be plucked by hand and they are left to ripen at the end. Mangoes ripen by the heat and since they are getting the least amount of heat, they are expected to stay till next month. Occasional rain followed by heat ripens them faster, but they are anyways at a place where Mom or Dad can pluck by hand.
This variety is very sweet like sugar and my son loves this one, where as Mom likes the other one below, which is moderately sweet.
Imagine how it would feel to pluck mangoes like this from the plant.
And there was some other goodies at home as well, more to come on that.....that's the reward of taking care of parents.
