Inspiration from the honey bee - find the colors of life in nature and people around us - be committed.
I am going to my native today and this morning, after completing my regular exercise on my mark I decided to have one last look at our garden - they will be gone in few days as the winter is about to leave. What I found out in the garden was truly inspiring - the honey bees. I could not stop looking them closer spending more than half hour and capturing them on lens - the tremendous amount of commitment you can find in this small species. Do you know a honey bee produces maximum 1 tablespoon of honey in its lifetime but flies more than 30000 miles to do that ? Because it is capable of carrying only .25 to 80 milligrams of nectar at a time - not necessarily carrying the full load always. In one trip, it visits 50 - 100 flowers at a speed of 12 miles per hour to collect the nectar. It never gives up - always at its best.
Our life is like that - at least that is how I feel. Life has some hard times and I am going through one now. My family is in the city and my parents are at my native - its not possible to move them together. Parents do not agree to come here, and we cannot move kids now because shifting to a new school is not a good idea, as my son is about to move to 10th grade - an important milestone in education. Both need me but I am only one piece. So I have to decide based on priority and I feel the priority for parents is higher now. So I am moving to my native today giving them the mental support and will stay there for most of the time and will come here occasionally. This has to go for a year - till my son completes 10th grade. It may go beyond that, but right now, a year planning is on the paper. But one year is not a small time - considering the age of my parents. And the lady also got overloaded with responsibilities - she is the only child and she has to take care of her parents as well. It needs a lot of commitment to take care of all these and it burns us out. I already felt the pinch and visited a Ayurveda doctor yesterday - he would check the pulse and write down everything on a paper before asking you anything. What he wrote for me matched what I told - some neuro hormonal disorder has already started within my body. It has started with some sleep disorders - I wake up suddenly after 3-4 hours and then cannot sleep - the mind does not let me.
I got some medicines from him but at the same time, I am adding some gifts from nature - like aloe vera, leaves of another tree, dates and milk ( I will post on it soon). The lady and me have challenges but the best way to deal with them is to plan it and work on it in a disciplined way which we have decided to execute now. Hopefully it will bring some rest in my mind and heal me inside. Everyone has some expectation from us - we choose to meet them. Many people today do not want to take care of these responsibilities and think, they are happier themselves, but I am sure, their time will come one day. At that time, the same will reflect on them.
Our life is challenging and busy but we are happy with it - happy from inside. This decision along with some discipline will definitely going to make our life better. It's difficult now but I am sure the future will shine - once the kids are grown up they will share some responsibilities ( in fact my son already started taking some). Life is a commitment. But to fulfill that commitment, I need plan and better execution and even plan for some unexpected. Only then, I can keep myself fit - which is most essential to face these challenges happily. Before going, I gave a last hug to my trees - some unexpected rain came today but thankfully it has not damaged anything. I am taking one plant with me - as a token of reminder as well as grow more from them - without doing this I will not have peace of mind. The basil tree reminds me how to rise from death - hopefully I will be able to build my energy level to a higher scale to be able to take care of everyone who needs me. I will have to find something interesting there and right now I can think of football being the inspiration. And of course all those feasts - they do it regularly. Sometimes back I posted about moving our field - that is another thing that will keep me busy as well. And if all goes well, small travels will help me as well as my parents relax.
This pandemic has taken a lot from us but it has taught us one important thing - to love your family and find happiness in that. It forced us to do that inside our house but we should not forget what it taught to us. NO matter how much money you have, you can't buy happiness - not the real happiness. Live the life of a traveler - carry only that much that you need. There is plenty of resource in this universe to fulfill your need, but not greed. Adopt to the change else vanish - choice is ours. And in this process our kids will learn these values - you can't teach these values to them by any other means.
By the way @liketu seems having some issues with drafts - can anyone tell me if the feature is working ? I just could not see any draft and had to rework on this from scratch.
