The tough time (Summer) is coming
This year has been a bit tough. As I wrote in my last post, they are not getting enough attention, the reason being lack of space. It's not easy to take care of them at their new home, as it's difficult to move the pots. But still I have managed to take care of them, because I cannot afford not to see their beautiful output.
The weather has been on and off in the sense that, the winter has not been consistent. Blame it on global warming, the winter ideally should have been here till end of February. But right now we are already experiencing hotter days, due to which I have to water these plants daily. So that indicates, we may see end of winter soon, may be max two weeks more. After that only all season marigold may survive, and I will try to retain some plants, till the next winter. As I wrote earlier, I am loosing interest because people take away the flowers. The only other option is to take over the entire park area, as it is going to be vacant, but then that also is a difficult task. Evaluating the pros and cons and by end of this month, I will decide, if I should continue doing this or not. In the mean time visited the garden of the person from where I am getting the cow manure. Could not stop getting some fresh organic beans from his garden.
He spends couple of hours daily in the morning and does not sell these - he knows the value of organic food and he cannot get it anywhere. This is going to be the future of food - if you have to eat good, then you have to grow your own food with no chemicals. And the most important part is the complete food chain - having cows in his premise helps him get all the right food for these plants. And the pure milk - you can't get it anywhere else.
And here comes the very tasty apple berries. When I had been into my native, they were just coming up and now they are fully matured. The bats do not spare a lot for us, but we save a bit by putting nets at some places around the tree, where we can easily pick. After all, we don't eat a lot, so leaving the bigger chunk for these birds is fair.
Give all the credit to Mom, to save this much.
I don't know from where she gets all the strength at this age of 72, but she is my inspiration - work till we are alive. Apart from doing all the work, she also has the responsibility to look after Dad and ensure to engage him in small activities. I am not sure if we will go this far, but the only way to remain fit is to work.
