We had a really good time preparing and executing the Brahmopadesham ceremony for my son. It was kind of grand affair. We had our relatives attend the ceremony from different parts of the country. Arnav (my son) was happy to meet his cousins who he didn't knew existed.

Everyone wore traditional dresses and I was supposed to wear a saree. Though I am not a much of saree lover, I tried to look comfortable in what I was wearing. I wanted to look my best because I knew that such a occasion would never come again in my life. Even if it does, I would not look as I could look now because of passing age.

We had over 350 guests, food was traditional Konkani food. We had decided that we won't spend extravagantly as that was not necessary. What people wanted was good tummy filling food and we just did that. We also made sure that the decorations didn't burn our pockets by opting for durable paper flowers. Paper flowers didn't make any difference to the decorations, it looked as good as those natural flowers.

Here are few pics from the ceremony.
