Better known as 'shravan maas' across India, this one month is considered very suspicious according to Hindu calendar. This is the time when we make prayers and rituals to than god for all the good things in nature that he has blessed us with.
While every Hindu community has its own rituals to follow this month, I belong to the GSB community and we practice a ritual called as 'chudi' where in we make small bouquet of flowers that are collected from our garden and offer it to goddess Tulsi and then distribute it among the other married elders.
This ritual is also to remind the youngsters that elders exist otherwise in this busy world of today people hardly get time to go and meet their extended families. I personally love this ritual and every Friday and Sunday is fun when we observe this ritual.
