Testing Blood Strike's New Character Before Official Release - VOX🔬🔫
A few days ago, Blood Strike introduced a new challenge that gave players the opportunity to unlock and try out their newest operator, VOX, for a few days before his official release. I decided to take advantage of the challenge and test him out for myself, and after spending some time with the character, the first statement that came to my mind was simple: “This character is lit as fvck!🔥” There is just something about VOX that immediately caught my attention. His entire design gives off a futuristic sci-fi vibe, while his style is giving serious Gen Z energy. Even his abilities are designed in a way that makes him feel different from the usual characters we are used to seeing in Battle Royale. His skills can be extremely useful in different situations, and honestly, VOX is almost everything I could ask for in a character. However, there is one thing I would change about him. If Blood Strike replaced one of his abilities with the Medic skill, I honestly think VOX would become one of, if not my favorite character in the game.
For those who don't play Blood Strike, or maybe haven't had the opportunity to test VOX yet, the character comes with two abilities, just like the other operators in the game. His first ability is the Location Expose skill, and this is probably the ability that caught my attention the most. When activated, it reveals the locations of enemies around you, and what makes it even more useful is that an enemy doesn't necessarily have to be standing in the open for you to find them. Even if the enemy is behind an obstacle or taking cover, their position can still be highlighted in red. This ability immediately reminded me of Valentina, who was actually one of my favorite characters back in my OG days of Blood Strike. Her ability to reveal enemy locations used to give me a huge advantage whenever I came across an enemy who tried to hide after taking damage. Normally, when an enemy disappears behind a wall, rock, or another obstacle, you have to guess where they are going or where they might peek from next. But when you already know their exact location, the entire situation changes because you can prepare yourself before they even make their next move. On the cover image of this video or post, depending on where you're checking from, the animation where VOX is holding that futuristic looking ball is actually the ability that reveals the locations of enemies within his range or barrier. And I can already imagine how useful this could become when fighting players who rely heavily on taking cover.
The second ability is the one you can see on the cover image where VOX is typing on something that looks like a futuristic keyboard. This ability gives him a speed boost, and immediately after activating it and watching him interact with the keyboard, he gets that boost in movement speed. At first, it might look like a simple ability, but movement speed is actually one of those things that can make a huge difference during a Battle Royale match. There are countless situations where you might need to reposition quickly, escape from an enemy, rotate into a safer area, or chase an enemy who is desperately trying to get away from you. Having that extra speed can help in all of these situations. Imagine you just damaged an enemy and instead of fighting you, they decide to run behind cover to heal. With the speed boost, you can close the distance faster and keep the pressure on them before they have enough time to recover. It can also work the other way around. If you're the one being chased or you're caught in a bad situation, activating the ability could give you enough speed to reach better cover or create enough distance to survive. So I completely understand why Blood Strike gave VOX this ability because it can definitely be useful in different scenarios.
However, if I had the opportunity to redesign VOX according to my own playstyle, the Speed Boost would be the ability I would remove, and I would replace it with Medic. I know the Speed Boost is useful, but personally, I don't think it is essential when I already have Location Expose. Having the ability to know exactly where my enemy is already gives me a huge advantage, and combining that with Medic would make the character even more dangerous in my hands. Just imagine knowing exactly where an enemy is hiding, aiming down your sights in his direction, waiting for him to peek, and at the same time having Medic available in case the fight doesn't go exactly as planned. Even if I miss some shots and take damage in the process, I would still have a way to recover and continue fighting. The enemy would have to deal with someone who already knows his position while also having the ability to heal and recover during the fight. That combination sounds absolutely crazy to me.
Maybe Blood Strike actually knows what they are doing. Maybe the developers understand exactly how powerful those two abilities would be when combined, and that is why they decided not to give VOX both Location Expose and Medic. Because when you really think about it, having enemy detection and healing on the same character could make certain fights extremely difficult for the opponent. Of course, having those abilities wouldn't automatically make someone unbeatable because skill, aim, positioning, and decision making still matter, but having that kind of advantage could definitely make some encounters much easier.
Despite that, I still really like VOX. His design is unique, his abilities are interesting, and he brings something different to the game. The sci-fi appearance, the futuristic animations, and the way his skills work all make him feel like a character that belongs in a completely different world, yet somehow fits perfectly into Blood Strike. I definitely want to spend more time playing with him and see how useful these abilities become when I'm actually involved in intense Battle Royale matches. Sometimes an ability can look amazing when you first test it, but its real value only becomes obvious when you start using it in different situations against real players.
So, I'm definitely going to be making some Battle Royale content with VOX and putting this character through different situations to see what he can really do. Maybe after using him for a while, I'll end up appreciating the Speed Boost more than I currently do. Or maybe I'll become even more convinced that Medic would have been the perfect replacement for it. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of gameplay I can get from this character because, from what I've experienced so far, VOX has the potential to become a very interesting addition to Blood Strike.
But I want to know what you guys think. If you have tested VOX already, do you think Blood Strike made the right decision by giving him the Speed Boost ability, or would you also prefer to see Medic replace it? Personally, I know exactly which one I'm choosing. Give me Location Expose and Medic together, and I'll be ready to cause some serious problems in those Battle Royale matches. 😅 That's all for today, guys. Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you in the next one.
