Hello Splinterlands warriors and card collectors!
Splinterlands has just announced three new cards which will be available in the voucher shop. These new cards will bring new excitement in battles and will be a great addition to our collections. Let's check their stats and abilities.
Ruckus Rootpaw (Common)
Ruckus Rootpaw is a four mana common card with dual splinters Earth and Dragon. He doesn't have his own attack but at maxed levels, he has great defensive stats. Also, he has five abilities that support the team, debuff the enemy and add defense against magic attacks to himself. Although he doesn't have his own attack, that's not so much an issue since he can be paired with units with Weapons Training ability. His five abilities are:
Decoy
It works like Taunt but attracts Snipe, Apex Strike and Opportunity attacks unless an allied Taunt unit takes priority. It does not redirect front position enemies.
Weaken
Decreases the enemy’s maximum health by one. It's a strong ability especially in survival rulesets like Noxious Fumes or Anemic.
Martyr
Boosts all stats of adjacent allies by one once he gets defeated. This ability makes a comeback. It was somewhat replaced by Bloodline Tribute that works only on similar bloodlines.
Shield Ward
Grants Shield to the ally immediately ahead when battle begins. It's a good support ability especially to tanks who doesn't have Shield.
Void Armor
Makes incoming magic damage strike armor before health. It's a good defensive ability against magic attacks.
For my level, I'd like him at level five where he has three useful abilities including Martyr.
Bakko Vharos (Rare)
Bakko Vharos is a seven mana card with dual splinters Death and Fire. At maxed level, he deals three range damage, eight health and four speed. He has four abilities that debuff the enemy and support allies.
##Blind
Adds a 15% miss chance to enemy physical attacks; also affects magic attacks against Phase.
Focus
+1 ranged power to all allied units.
Swiftness
Gives every allied unit one additional speed.
Shield Ward
Grants Shield to the ally immediately ahead when battle begins.
For my level, I'd like this card at level four he will have two abilities.
Vaelira Silverwake (Legendary)
Vaelira Silverwake is a seven mana card with dual splinters Water and Life. At maxed level, she deals four range damage, eight health and five speed. She has five abilities that will help on the team's offense.
True Strike
Attacks will never miss. This is a great counter against enemy debuffs like Blind.
Close Range
Allows ranged attacks while occupying the first position. Being a range unit, this ability is important to enable her to attack from first position.
Volley of Arrows
All other allied ranged attackers gain Volleying. When this unit attacks, those units immediately make one ranged attack that cannot miss against the same target (regardless of position). If this unit does not attack, no Volley occurs. This is a new ability that looks broken.
Granted ability — Volleying
When an allied Volley of Arrows unit attacks, this unit immediately makes one ranged attack that cannot miss against the same target (regardless of position). This does not replace its normal turn.
Reprisal
An enemy dealing over five damage in a round receives Taunt and loses Camouflage protection.
Piercing
Sends damage left over after breaking armor into the target’s health.
For me, I'd really like to get her to at least level two to gain the Volley of Arrows ability.
Final Thoughts
The new cards look strong and bring something new to our playing experience. If you haven't saved or bought vouchers yet, maybe it's time to get some before these cards are released. This is another exciting achievement by the Splinterlands team to enrich our playing experience.
