Sam Travels - Day 5 - Singapore Formula 1 Qualifying Day
Thanks for watching my Singapore Blog of the Formula 1. Today I aimed to get up very early. The qualifying started this evening but we aimed to get to the track for around 3 o’clock to soak up the atmosphere, see practise 3 and watch the Ferrari and Porsche races.
This morning we ventured out to find some open space near little India were we could fly the drone. Myself, Ralph from the Netherlands, Sander, who is also from the Netherlands and Santiago from Argentina hung out in an open park and took the DJI spark drone for a spin!
You can see the edit of the city in the first 30 seconds of this video!
I arrived at the track for around 3 and wanted to ride the Singapore Flyer which is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world! This attraction was rated the best view in Singapore so I figured it was essential to ride this amazing wheel… Not just once but also in the evening too. The views were truly incredible, especially at night!
As darkness covered the qualifying session began. When I bought my seats I bought for the pass which allowed me to move around, so my aim was to try and sit in a different location for each session. I've attached some photos in the blog post of the different locations which I sat!
The results finished Sebastien Vettel in 1st, Max Verstappen in 2nd and Daniel Riccardo in 3rd! Unfortunately, Lewis Hamilton could finish in the top 3 for this race but we will see how he fairs in the race tomorrow starting in 5th on the grid!
At the Singapore Grand Prix they always have music artists performing after each main event, I was so lucky to be able to see the Chainsmokers perform on the main stage for this event! It was a truly once in a lifetime experience to see these guys perform, especially as it was included in the price of the ticket!
Anyways! Thanks for taking the time for reading my Singapore Qualifying Blog Post, make sure to stay tuned for race day tomorrow!
