I was on the edge of my seat reading this! It must have been so scary to endure. I'm so sorry you had to experience this! And your poor dog - what a brave little soul he is - and clever too!!! seems your doggo is very perceptive and knew exactly what was needed from him. I'm so glad that he also managed to survive.
Just a quick word of advice on your image sourcing... You mention that your images come from Unsplash, which is a royalty-free site, but then you have not provided the correct image sourcing for them (as required by the Ink Well and most Hive communities) which involves adding the URL link of the page dedicated to the image used... so if you went onto Unsplash and found the image you want to use, you would click on that image to take you to the image's dedicated page. Then use that URL as your image-sourced link... the way to image source is:
Use square brackets to write a brief description of the image eg: [Blackboard by X photographer on Unsplash]. And then immediately after the square brackets (no space or other grammar), you add a set of round brackets and you drop the image URL inside the round brackets. This should create a clickable link that takes you directly to the image source on the royalty-free site.
Hope this helps!
