Today I’d like to talk a little bit about haters and personal growth. How the two often go together.⠀
⠀
What I’ve come to realize is that with our personal growth there tend to be some haters that come along with it. A lot of the time those haters are people that we know. ⠀
⠀
When I first started my journey of personal growth I didn’t realize how many people would end up being cut out of my life. ⠀
⠀
I ended up outgrowing the old people, places, and things in my life. I was able to realize what no longer served me and I chose to act and move differently after that. ⠀
⠀
Along the line I ended up losing many people I used to call “friends”. At first I didn’t understand why this was happening, and why my change started to anger some people.⠀
⠀
Then I realized that everything I had in common with my so-called friends is everything I was trying to change in my life. ⠀
⠀
And because of that they didn’t want to be around me anymore, they judged me for doing things differently, and eventually stopped talking to me altogether. ⠀
⠀
At first, this hurt. It was upsetting to know that I was just trying to change my life for the better, but not everyone supported me on this. ⠀
⠀
Then I understood that it’s no one's business. I was trying to make a change for myself and if they didn’t support that then I was better off without them. ⠀
⠀
In life people will always come and go. And there will always be those people that don’t support you or your growth. ⠀
⠀
The important thing to remember is that you don't owe anyone anything. And if they aren’t going to support you or your growth in life, then you’re better off without them. ⠀
⠀
Have you ever had to deal with somebody that suddenly turned their backs on you once you started turning your life around?
